This installation removes the mirror from its function as a reflective surface. It transforms the viewer's body into an image bound to a system.

Reflective surfaces placed at varying depths fragment, distort, and ultimately render the viewer's reflection unrecognizable.

Belonging is a call — yet it exists through its own exclusion. Distorted is concerned with the image of that exclusion.

What emerges on the surface places the viewer, for a brief moment, in the position of the observed, the misread, the left out.

Existence becomes ambiguous — to be seen is not necessarily to be known. To appear is not always to be accepted.
